It’s Something in The Air…
Fall seems to come across for the general population as the preferred season for various reasons. It’s cool outside and you’re not dying from the heat waves, the fall fashions begin appearing, the average teenage girl can break out her black leggings and puffy vests, football season really amps up, Halloween is around the corner and not to mention, the infamous pumpkin spice lattes that become an accessory staple.
Here at 375 Photography, we love fall primarily because we feel it’s the absolute best time of year to hold a wedding. When you think of Autumn, what springs to mind? For us, it’s the crisp air, the warm shades of leaves falling to the ground and adding vibrant contrast to the jading blue sky, the smell of apple orchards, along with the sights of autumnal spirit residing around. It’s that warm feeling when you drink that pumpkin spice latte or hot cider, while sitting on a porch. The fall foliage that graces us with it’s presents makes a backdrop for your family pictures before the ceremony feel even more magical. It adds a heightened level of elegance to the image with the long, white wedding dresses popping out in the foreground.
Practical and Preferred
Fall contains a lot of practical positives that make weddings during this time favored, such as lower humidity, less attendance issues, or obtaining that venue you desire. When you host a Wedding in September, October or November (prior to Thanksgiving), there aren’t any other real holidays for people to be out of town for. Not that you should pick a date to please other people, but the rest of the year always holds a holiday for people to escape for. The cool, calm air also won’t have guests wanting a fan glued to their face or antsy, so everyone can celebrate the special occasion. No one wants to have makeup melting off their face or their hair looking like Monica’s hair did in “FRIENDS” episode, when they gang went to Barbados for Ross’s paleontology convention. Fall provides a happy medium, no humidity or need for a camel back, but not cold to the point where a jacket is necessary.
Photo sessions can be a more of an enjoyable experience for all parties involved and we are able to get some amazing shots with the vivid, fall landscape surrounding you. In the end, It’s about celebrating your day in the way that you and your partner envision. In our opinion, the Autumn season provides the best background that reflects warmth, vibrancy and a the start of something truly special.
